    1958- NSE inauguration at the Nigerian House, London
    1959- Chief Adeniyi Williams became the 1st President of NSE
    1960- First formal outing and public inauguration of NSE chaired by Rt. Hon. Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa; NSE Executive Committee expanded to include 2 Vice Presidents
    1961- The first Branch of NSE was established in Ibadan
    1962- Maiden edition of The Nigerian Engineer’ was published
    1964- Engr. J.C. Egbuna became the 1st elected NSE President from South- Eastern Nigeria
    1965- NSE logo and seal were designed and registered; NSE employed a full-time staff for the first time, rented a room in Apapa, Lagos to serve as its secretariat.
    1966- Engr. S.O. Fadahunsi of Ibadan Branch became the 5th President of the NSE
    1967- NSE was legally incorporated
    1970- COREN was established; Engr. Obi Obembe became the 1st NSE President from the private sector
    1972- Association of Consulting Engineers, Nigeria (ACEN) was established
    1973- NSE land was acquired for the construction of the Lagos NEC building; the 1st full time Registrar was appointed for COREN. Engr. C.S.O. Akande of Ibadan Branch became the 8th President of the NSE
    1974- The first NSE endowment fund was launched at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos
    1975- NSE started to conduct examinations for prospective members Ibadan Branch hosted the 8th AGM and Annual Conference of the NSE
    1976- Engr. Teju Oyeleye of Ibadan Branch became the 9th President of the NSE
    1978- Engr. I. Igiehon of Ibadan became the 10th president of the NSE
    1979- ACEN was registered
    1980- Engr. O. Olugbekan of Ibadan Branch became the 11th president of the NSE
    1981- Engr. Mrs. Mayen Adetiba became the first female engineer delegate to attend NSE Conference in Calabar; Academy of Engineering was formed with Engr. Prof; Ifedayo Oladapo as the 1st President
    1982- APWEN was formed with Engr. Mrs. Olu Maduka as President and Engr. Mrs. Mayen Adetiba as Secetary-General
    1984- Mr. Claudius Cole was appointed the first Executive Secretary of NSE
    1985- NSE NEC, Lagos was officially commissioned by the Head of State, General Mohammadu Buhari
    1986- Brig. M.S. Toki became the first engineer to be appointed the Executive Secretary of NSE
    1987- Engr. Ife Akintunde of Ibadan Branch became the 15th President of NSE
    1989- Engr. Khaleel Inuwa became the 1st elected NSE President from Northern Nigeria
    1991- Ibadan hosted the 24th AGM and Annual Conference of the NSE
    1992- Foundation laying ceremony of the Abuja NEC as conducted by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida
    2002- NSE College of Fellows was inaugurated
    2003- Ibadan Branch hosted the 25th AGM and Annual Conference of the NSE
    2006- ACEN School of Engineering was established
    2007- NSE School of Engineering was launch; Engr. Ebele Okeke became the first female engineer to be appointed the Head of Service of the Federal Government of Nigeria;
    Abuja NEC building was commissioned by President Olusegun Obasanjo
    2010- Engr. (Chief) O.A Ajibola of Ibadan Branch became the 27th President of the NSE
    2011- Golden Jubilee Anniversary of the Ibadan Branch of the NSE
